Changing kitchen tap, new laundry system

5 Oct 2014 (Sun) - Changing our kitchen tap for the first time cos I find the water flow too slow. Been complaining for years but never got around to doing anything cos its an expensive tap that we have. Must get this 'project' done before Clara comes out, else...we will never get around to doing it, haha.

Its Kitty's first time doing it, and ours is a bit more complicated cos we are changing from a mixer tap to a cold water tap. Bought our new tap from Sim Siang Choon for $38 (cheap right!) and all the relating tools from there too. Thankfully, Kitty succeeded!!!! Our new tap may not look as sophisticated as the old one, but the water flow is fantastic!!!!! I love it!!! Love practicality!!! Wahahahhahaa!

In preparation for Clara's arrival, we decided to change our laundry system to make sorting of clothes easier. Bought this from IKEA for $75 (structure, 3 mesh baskets, top shelf, castors) and replaced our current laundry basket. A bit of a pity, cos our current one is really good and looks cool, but too bad its a single structure and can't do any sorting.

Installing doors for our WIW

22 Jan 2014 (Wed) - I have been grumbling about the dust in the WIW for a few years already and had thought of installing doors. However the estimated cost of a few thousand dollars put me off, plus the fact that some of the renovation companies I approached told me it cannot be done cos of the weird angle of the shelving.

I was cleaning the shelves 2 weeks ago and it took me a freaking 45mins to 1 hour just to clean everything. As usual, I had to clean all the boxes and shelves. I find that very time consuming and thus, went to ask for quotations again, this time patronizing a shop owned by an uncle I know. The carpenter came over in the evening and to my delight, told me that doors CAN be installed!! I was so happy! The cost though, would be around $3500 after discount. I told Kitty about it and requested to have doors installed. Thankfully, he agreed!!! So happy!!!

Fast-forward to Wednesday. I sent C to school in the morning then quickly rushed home to let the carpenters in. I had asked Mdm Yik to help me pick C from school. The carpenters came to install the doors in our WIW and replace the hinges for our shoe cabinet and storeroom. Work completed at 5pm. Our WIW looks so nice and tidy now! Super love the design! I also love the fact that the new hinges for the shoe cabinet and storeroom makes opening the doors noiseless! I spent the next few hours cleaning up. 2 whole hours just to wipe the cupboard lor. Here are the pics!

2nd Window Film for the Dining Table

5 Jan 2014 (Sun) - Recently, I noticed many scratches on the window film on the dining table. Wanted to buy a new table but it seems kinda wasteful. To make myself feel better as the table is an eyesore, I decided to be contented with replacing the window film. The removal process was super tiring. The old film was extremely hard to peel off. By the time we managed to remove it, we were both super tired, lol. Thankfully, the new window film was super easy to apply unlike the first one. No air bubbles trapped, no nothing. Pretty! So pro! And the moment I finished trimming off the excess at the sides....Claris woke up. Perfect timing on our part to do it during her nap time!
