Aircon Overhaul and Repainting Walls

6 Feb 2025 - This the day we bade our 5-year old LG System 4 goodbye. It's a massive project that includes changing of trunking, piping, insulation, wiring...etc. We tried to cover up our furniture with plastic sheets as much as we could in the morning but the house was still super dusty. I banished myself to one corner of the sofa and binge-watched drama. Clara returned home at 4.30pm and I also banished her to sit on her chair in the LVR. We could not access anywhere else in the house, lol.

I decided to escape to JP again and brought Clara along. We had dinner at Malaysia Boleh and C joined us after school. We got home at 8.30pm but the aircon was not done yet. Haiz, it will have to drag on to tomorrow. Started cleaning up after uncle left. Sooo messy and dirty. I tried cleaning the MBR and gave up. Luckily daddy can clean very well, wahahahhaa! 

7 Feb 2025 - Our aircon installation continued today and was done around 1.30pm. Thankfully it wasn't too dusty, phew! Now we have a System 1 for our MBR (15000 BTU) and a System 3 for the LVR (18000 BTU), study (9000 BTU) and kids' bedroom (9000 BTU). Dyson-ed the house 3 times throughout the day and cleaned some of the furniture that I felt got especially dusty yesterday. Furniture such as the wheels of our 4 study chairs, haha. So happy our new aircon is finally up and running. The final step would be to buy paint and paint parts of the walls that sustained ugly marks in the process.

New Bed Frames for the Kids

10 Oct 2023 - The two sets of Berti Super Single bed frames that I ordered on 9.9 were delivered today, yay! Bought it on Shopee and paid $659.65 each. 

New Ceiling Fan for Kids' Bedroom

9 Sep 2023 - Wow can't believe that I bought a ceiling fan exactly a month ago on 9 Aug and now bought a second one from the same seller to be installed in the kids' bedroom! Got the same model - Fanco Tributo 56" but in white. $223 after applying discount vouchers on Shopee, haha.

As there were holes and ugly marks left behind by the old light, I bought putty and he filled up the holes. Painted the area around it the next afternoon and now it looks nice and clean, yay~

New Ceiling Fan for LVR

9 Aug 2023 - Ordered a new ceiling fan yesterday for our LVR and it was installed today!

This is our new FANCO Tributo 56" ceiling fan. Love the much bigger and brighter 36W light and wood colour! I got it on Shopee for only $230!

Installing Roller Blinds

11 Mar 2020 - Two weeks ago, we decided to remove all our curtains and install roller blinds instead. Sick of having dusty curtains! Today, we have our new roller blinds installed at the LVR and MBR, yay!


The selection of roller blind materials is so much less office-like now!

New LG Aircon System 4

20 Dec 2019 (Fri) - Installed new aircon system today. Manx, it took the entire morning and afternoon! Bade goodbye to our Mitsubishi of 12 years. Hope this change will be the last of all home improvement problems for 2019. Big hole in pocket!

New Cabinets for Study and LVR

28 Nov 2019 (Thurs) - Today is a very busy day for me. The cabinets that I ordered for the study arrive today!!! So happy!!!!!!!!!

Living room cabinet:

BEFORE: Doll house bookshelf and 4-tier colourful drawers on the left, 4 colourful toy boxes below the TV console (disposed them a week ago), book rack beside the TV console and a Parklon playmat on the floor.

AFTER: I gave away the bookshelf and book rack, sold off the Parklon, disposed the 4 toy boxes and re-positioned the 4-tier drawers at the balcony.

Super happy now cos the LVR looks so clean now! Transferred all the books into the new cabinet and now my EOs have a proper home! I also gave away the black tray with metal stand that was previously used to put loose items like these.

Spent the afternoon transferring things into the new cabinets and cleaning the house before rushing to pick Clara and send her to Berries.
